How to Use WordZap Effectively

WordZap is more than just a word finder — it's a strategic tool for word game enthusiasts. Here's how to get the most out of it:

Basic Unscrambling

  1. Enter your letters in the input box (maximum 15 letters).
  2. Select your preferred dictionary: NWL for North American Scrabble, CSW for international play, or ID for Indonesian.
  3. Click Unscramble or press Enter.
  4. Results are grouped by word length for easy scanning.
  5. Click any word to copy it to your clipboard.

Using Wildcards (Blank Tiles)

In Scrabble and similar games, blank tiles can represent any letter. WordZap supports this with two wildcard characters:

Example: HELLO? finds words like "HELLO" plus one extra letter; HEL* finds words starting with "HEL" plus any number of additional letters.

Advanced Filters

Click "Advanced Options" to refine your search:

Pro Tip: For Scrabble, always check both NWL and CSW dictionaries — some words are valid in one but not the other. CSW has ~200k more words, giving you more options in international play.

NWL (NASPA Word List) — North American Standard

Official dictionary for Scrabble in the US, Canada, and Thailand. Contains ~172,000 words. Does not include many British spellings (e.g., "COLOUR" is invalid; use "COLOR"). Updated periodically by NASPA.

CSW (Collins Scrabble Words) — International Standard

Used in most of the world (UK, Australia, New Zealand, etc.). Contains ~370,000 words — over double NWL. Includes British spellings, archaic words, and more obscure terms. Essential for international tournaments.

ID (Bahasa Indonesia) — Indonesian Language

Contains ~50,000 Indonesian words. Supports wildcards and advanced filters like the English dictionaries. Ideal for Indonesian word games and language learners.
